Hope vs. Trust

A concept film to encourage youth voter participation in South Africa’s 2024 general election
Client:
N/A
Brief:
A film to encourage young people to vote.
Delivery:
Through a series of workshops with a collective of non-partisan activists and doers determined to encourage young people to vote in South Africa’s 2024 National Election because of their power to swing a shift, we created this short film - a gut-punch poem and call to action - delivered by a young person for young people. The film was included in an omni-channel civic awareness campaign pitch deck to provide context for the urgency. Though the project was not realised in time for this election, we decided to release the film to our immediate networks to test its potency a couple of days prior to the election.
Impact:
We received some encouraging feedback, impetus for us to create more and work hard to secure funding to realise this project in time for the next general election in 2029.
