Segametsi: Hustler Turned Small Business Owner

A film to demonstrate impact and showcase success
Client:
Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator / Gauteng Provincial Government
Brief:
A film to demonstrate the impact of Gauteng Province’s Flagship Youth Empowerment Programme, Tshepo 1Million.
Delivery:
Through our work on Tshepo 1Million, we delivered beneficiary stories for use on social media to promote registrations and grow a library of films on select stories. This film is one of many and tells the story of Segametsi, a hustler from Hammanskraal, who received grant funding from the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) after stumbling across our Bosso Ke Mang competition in the Tshepo 1Million Village at the Gauteng Youth Expo in 2019. Segametsi worked hard to grow her small sanitiser business, perfectly positioned to fulfil demand during the pandemic.
Impact:
Segametsi’s business benefitted from the exposure she received through Tshepo 1Million, not only on social media but also live at some of our events, and her inspiring story motivated many other aspirant entrepreneurs.
